“How’d you get your fake eye, Bloth?”
“Do you want to know about every injury I’ve ever had?”
“No...”
“A few days ago it was my ear, a few days before it was my scar,” he gestured vaguely at the long scar on his face, “and now it’s my eye, why do you want to know?”
“I’m just curious.”
“I don’t think it’s necessary for you to know.”
“I may just be taking an interest in you.”
“You may just be trying to irritate me.”
“Well, actually,” Tula hesitated for a moment, pondering her words, “it’s not really how you got it I was wondering about.”
“What were you wondering about?”
“It’s just...why’d you get an orange glass eye?”
“Get back to work, Tula.”
Title: Just Tired.
Fandom: Pirates of Dark Water.
Characters: Tula, Bloth.
Prompt: 060 - Drink.
Word Count: 227.
Rating: G.
Summary: Bloth has fell ill, though he says he's fine, and Tula has been in charge of the ship.
Disclaimer: Pirates of Dark Water belongs to Warner Brothers.
“I am not that ill, Tula,” Bloth tried to sit up but a sudden dizziness stopped him and Tula had to try to repress a laugh. “I’m just very tired.”
“Sure, Bloth.” Tula shrugged and yawning, took a few glances around the room.
“I hope the crew aren’t causing trouble in my absence.”
“Not as far as I know,” Tula rolled her eyes, “Strand was trying to start a fight this morning, though.”
“Nothing happened?”
“No, he was all words. When he thought the rest of the crew were going to fight back, he backed off.”
Bloth chucked lightly, though he ended up with a sharp cough afterwards. “Strand’s normally a good fighter; he must’ve just not been in the mood for it.”
“I don’t know.” Tula nodded slightly, but she didn’t really care about Strand or his antics.
“Tula, my dear,” Bloth took on a condescending tone, “you wouldn’t mind bringing me a drink of water, would you?”
“Do I have to?” Bloth’s sickness had made Tula a bit cockier towards him than she normally would be.
“You’d better.” The pirate lord growled and Tula decided it was best not to wind him up anymore.
“I’ll get you some water.”
As Tula turned away to get some water, Bloth narrowed his eyes after her and added, “Try not to poison it.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
