Oh, youtube.
I like cartoon films, and I am British. How about some British cartoon films? Why? Because I love you. Go under the cut to find the links.

When the Wind Blows
Story: WWWII is approaching, and an elderly couple living in the English countryside are preparing for the first attack. Although the wife isn't particularly interested, the husband has gathered old WWII pamphlets, so they can build a shelter in their house for when the bomb drops. Neither of them are prepared, however, for the fall-out of a nuclear attack.
Seriously, I love this film, it's great, go watch it!

Watership Down
Story: Most of you should know this one. Based on the book of the same name, by Richard Adams, the film follows a group of rabbits who leave their warren (when one of them has a vision of approaching danger) and go on a long journey to find a safe home. This is one my favourite films, and I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid.

Plague Dogs
Story: This is also based on a novel by Richard Adams. It follows two dogs who escape from an animal testing lab and try to find a safe home. However, they are being hunted down by the people from the lab with suspicions that the dogs are carrying anthrax. I warn you, although this isn't an adult film, it is a little hard going at times, moreso than Watership Down. If you're a really big animal lover, parts of this will depress you. However, it is a good film and worth watching.

The BFG
Story: Based on the book by Roald Dahl, this is about a little orphan called Sophie, who one night sees a giant outside of the orphanage she lives in. The giant, called the BFG (Big Friendly Giant), takes her back to his world where he lives with other giants. Unlike the BFG, however, all the other giants are evil and eat children. Sophie and the BFG decide that to make a plan to defeat the evil giants.

The Princess and The Goblin
Story: Very simple. The goblins, who live underground, wish to emerge and defeat the sun-dwellers (humans) and rule their world. Meanwhile, a love blossoms between a boy and the young princess. This is a strange film, but is worth watching if you're a fan of Rik Mayall, who here voices the Goblin ruler, Frogslip.

Watership Down and The BFG! I remember watching BFG at primary school.
And Watership Down was one of my all-time faves.

Thanks for these!

I love Watership Down, sadly I haven't read the book yet.

The Princess and The Goblin was one of me favorite films as a kid, I haven't seen t in a long time though, so I guess this would be my chance to do that then.

I've seen all of them, and own WD/PD, except I've never seen that first one =D I've only read the Watership Down book, yet to read Plague Dogs!

Is that version of Plague Dogs the full uncensored one, or the cut American one? Boo censorship!

Odd that we studied BFG in Primary school, but never.. you know. Read the book or studied the book itself.

Ahhhhhhhh! Thank you! I've been wanting to find Watership Down for a while now, and since I've nothing to do this weekend...

The other ones look interesting as well. Again, since I've nothing to do this weekend...
