    I am Z. I've been out of the online-scene for many moons now, and I decided it was time to get back in and expand my social horizons. Plus I got tired of 'Work's Bitch' being my only hobby.

    I can be crass, I can be bitchy, but I can also be caring and devoted. I like to give shit away (want a $5 gift card for tea? Lemme know, I have a buttload of them).

    I like to make stuff by hand. I like to read and write, and I like to RP (I've found that Private story lines tend to be better) and I'm always open to new friends. I like taking pictures and I plan to try that 365 days of pictures thing. Don't worry, I'm polite and I'll keep it under a cut.

    I'm into some weird shit and my beliefs are kind of out-there, but if you allow me mine, I'll allow you yours.

    I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none. I'm a chef. I'm a musician. I'm an author. I'm a crazy son of a bitch and I'm an open ear.

    My cat thinks I'm God. I'm not that narcissistic, but I just don't bother to correct him. Then again, he also thinks he's a dog and it trying to get me to play fetch while I type this.

    I like things that make me think. I spend my down-time trying to learn something new or feeding the addiction du jour and I love the odd and obscure.

    If I sound like someone you'd get along with, you're probably right. If I sound kind of stuck up, please forgive me, it's kind of weird writing up an advert to sell yourself with. I can also be found on AIM. Show me yours and I'll show you mine.

    Summary: Dante is a demon slayer and bounty hunter with a demon haritage of his own that haunts him. He's currently unemployed--and bored to death. Opportunity knocks in th eform of a missing-child case, which his friend and manager, Enzo, offers him. But a four-million-dollar reward, an unexpected demon attack and a little girl named Alice all conspire to send Dante through the looking glass on a nightmarish adventure beyond his wildest imagination.

    The art of this series is really great, and Dante's potty mouth makes it wonderful to read. Vergil's such an ass, which is more or less to be expected of him anyway. I do like how the manga goes into more specific detail about the opening of the seals and such than the game does.

    i'm barely breathing
    SLU's "check your application status" page has updated the "Status Date" thingy to say 1/7/2009, but nothing else has changed. I went over the damn thing with a fine-tooth comb. They haven't ever added anything to the new fees box either. I hope all this means good news, like, I dunno, ACCEPTANCE? I do expect to hear from them pretty soon though. They didn't say they mailed me anything, but the last thing on there is 11/21, and all I got that week was an email.

    LOL I told Colonel I was applying to go to law school and he laughed and said "why don't you pick an honest profession?" and I said "Aww, where's the fun in that?!" I am grateful to have Colonel & Sarge's support though, it means a lot and they know me pretty well so that's pretty awesome.

    Fingers are crossed that I have good news for you all soon.

    I don't ordinarly whine about my fanfic but since I've spent all day over in my other journal and buried in it, I'm going there. I started this Devil May Cry fic forever ago... I think it's like 7 months now... but anyway, I quit working on it for a while for personal reasons and now I'm back at it again. I updated it last week and I really do want to finish it. It's only a couple more chapters and I know exactly where it's going and what's going to happen and how it's ending. All I have to do is write it out. The problem? Now I have to involve Mundus, and I'm balking bigtime. :/ Or maybe I don't really want it to end and I'm just blaming Mundus, lol. But I don't want him to fuck up the happiness everybody's found in my fic now. :(

    Apparently, 2008 had one last "screw you" to dole out before it left.
    Guess who spent her New Year's Eve fighting with a cold/virus/death plague? That's right! Me! All while working during some of the busiest days of the year at work! Yeah, the end of 2008? Not so much good times. As an added bonus, my last order of contacts from my eye doctor got buggered up, somehow, and in a long story short, basically the correction on the left contact is too weak, making my ability to see properly and not develop headaches highly questionable. That's been awesome, if by "awesome" you mean "ARGH SMASH." But now that I'm finally getting over the damn bug, and the new order for actual working contacts is in, 2009 is starting to look a little better. I pretty much have two resolutions for the new year, and they're relatively simple: 1) write MOAR, and 2) exercise MOAR.

    Spelling, obviously, is still optional.

    Work on the writing bit is going well, and I seem to have acquired a small herd of plot bunnies while trying to wrap up the first draft of One Flew East, all of whom seem intent on nibbling my ankles off. Haven't started on the exercising bit yet, mostly because of work and trying to get over the aforementioned death bug.

    So, all in all: things are looking up. Also, due to a holiday sale, I finally joined the leagues of unwashed masses in investigating what this here newfangled Steam was all about. It's pretty cool, I must say--although it's obsession with taking forever and a day to download updates for itself every time I launch it may eventually tax my sanity too far. And yeah, I managed to pick up Half-Life (...yes, you read that right--I haven't even played the first one yet. Behold, my superability to be years behind the trends!), The Longest Journey, and Runaway, A Road Adventure, all for under $25.

    [info]non_fandom_100 is a community for creative writing which has been around for two years on LJ and now has a twin here. It's a place to post drabbles (exactly 100 words long) that aren't related to any fandom. There is also a weekly prompt posted every Saturday to use however you like in whatever you like, because you can never have too many ideas. You can find a list of previous prompts here.     I want to thank [info]_pinkchocolate for the fic she wrote for me, entitled Out from Under. I recced it here if you want more details about why I enjoyed it so much. :D [info]_pinkchocolate, I know you've been through hell with my fic, and I wanted to apologize for all the strife, but thank you so much. :) It was brilliant.

    As for my fic...it's an interesting story. I didn't know [info]okydoky much, but while putting the finishing touches on my fic, she emailed me about beta-ing a fic of hers for [info]hp_yule_balls (I think?), and I thought it the greatest coincidence. I'm happy she's now on my flist. ♥

    what if i say i will never surrender?
    I'm really sorry... I woke up this morning remarkably clearheaded and then realized that I really don't remember the past two days, so if I said something or did something offensive, I'm sorry. LMAO I have been so strung out on cold medicine I oughta be ashamed of myself.

    But I feel tons better today. Will probably take NyQuil again tonight and then quit the cold meds again. I say this like an addict, sigh. Though I don't think it's cold meds I've been addicted to... I realized today that I've more or less lived this whole break on frozen pizza and hot pockets. :/ Oh well, if going back to school on Sunday and eating regular food + this stupid cold don't kill me deader-than-hell, get-down-and-don't-get-your-ass-up-again dead, then I should give my immune system a gold star and lay off a little bit.

    I'm out of hot pockets, but I have more frozen pizza. And a few more days before I have to go back to real people, real life food.

    For today's photo, I had to teach myself a new skill: I couldn't, before ten minutes ago, eat ice cream left handed! But I can now (thanks to the fact that this photo was a bitch to get). It took a few tries before the ice cream stopped sliding off of the spoon long enough for me to take the damn picture. This was probably my fault.
